See where 13 new health units will be built in Uberlândia
Uberlândia will receive 13 new healthcare units across 11 neighborhoods, supported by a partnership between state and federal governments and the local municipality.
Uberlândia is set to enhance its healthcare infrastructure with the construction of 13 new health units distributed across 11 neighborhoods. This initiative is a result of a collaboration between the Government of Minas, the local city hall, and federal funding, aimed at bolstering primary healthcare services. The project will also address the need to replace existing units currently operating in rented or unsuitable spaces.
The construction is part of the broader 'Avança Uberlândia' program, which includes approximately R$ 2 billion in investments targeted at health and various sectors in the city. Of the total units announced, six primary health units (UBS type I) will be established in neighborhoods including Morumbi and Aclimação, funded by state resources and amounting to nearly R$ 12 million. Additionally, two type II units will be developed in Roosevelt and Planalto, facilitated through parliamentary action.
These developments not only promise to enhance healthcare accessibility for residents but also signify a substantial commitment to public health improvement in Uberlândia. With ongoing investments and infrastructure upgrades, the city aims to strengthen its healthcare system, catering better to the needs of its population while transitioning from inadequate facilities to modern health units.
