A family was rescued from captivity in Cuiabá after one member contacted colleagues via WhatsApp, leading to the arrest of six suspects.

In a harrowing incident in Santa Cruz neighborhood, Cuiabá, a family was held hostage by six suspects who subjected them to torture and threats. The situation escalated when one of the family members managed to communicate with their colleagues through a WhatsApp group, soliciting urgent help. This plea was promptly acted upon, leading law enforcement to the location where the family was being held.

The military police responded swiftly, resulting in the arrest of the six suspects, two of whom were identified as being from outside the state of Mato Grosso. Authorities revealed that during their captivity, the family was physically restrained and faced psychological terror. Following negotiations, the suspects surrendered to the police, averting a potentially dangerous situation for the hostages.
