On Tuesday, October 10, José Rodrigues dos Santos, a bus driver, tragically lost his life due to a severe road accident in the rural community of Lagedo, located in Miguel Alves, Northern Piauí. The incident involved two motorcycles that collided head-on while navigating a curve, resulting in severe injuries to José, who sustained critical head trauma that led to his immediate death at the scene. The other individual involved, a woman, suffered a fractured arm and head injuries and was swiftly taken to the Municipal Hospital of Miguel Alves for medical care.

The local military police reported that the woman was returning home from work when the collision occurred, highlighting the risks that motorcyclists face on the roads, particularly in rural areas. Following the accident, emergency services, including SAMU, were notified, and subsequent investigations were launched involving forensic teams and the Medical Legal Institute.
