Driver dies after flipping over and being thrown out of car in PI; two passengers injured
A driver died and two passengers were injured in a car accident in Piauí, Brazil, after losing control of the vehicle.
In a tragic incident in Piauí, Brazil, a driver named Edivan lost control of his vehicle and suffered fatal injuries in an accident that also left two passengers hurt. According to the military police, Edivan was driving at high speed when the car veered off the right side of the road during an overtaking maneuver. Witnesses reported that the vehicle left behind brake marks on the left side of the highway, indicating a sudden attempt to stop before the accident occurred.
Edivan was ejected from the vehicle and pronounced dead at the scene, while one female passenger was also thrown out and taken to the Floriano Emergency Care Unit for treatment. The other passenger was trapped inside the vehicle and had to be extricated before being transported to Tibério Nunes Regional Hospital in Floriano for medical attention. Thankfully, both passengers are reported to be in stable condition and undergoing medical evaluation.
The Legal Medical Institute (IML) has collected Edivan's body, and the circumstances surrounding the accident are under investigation by the Civil Police. The authorities will likely look into factors such as speed limits, road conditions, and any other potential causes that contributed to this unfortunate event, raising concerns about road safety in the region.
