There Is Still Space in Spas and Ski Resorts, as Many Book Their Ski Holiday Accommodation at the Last Minute

Ski holiday accommodations are filling up rapidly, but some spas and ski resorts in Finland still have availability as many travellers are making last-minute bookings.

Ski holiday season is among the busiest times of the year for spas and ski resorts in Finland, with accommodations becoming increasingly booked. Interestingly, many tourists are now reserving their stays just before their holidays begin, reflecting a trend towards last-minute planning among vacationers. This has led some locations to still have availability, making them viable options for those looking to escape for a ski vacation.

Holiday Club, a major resort chain in Finland, reported that while many spas are nearing full occupancy, there is still capacity available in several places. Visitors often arrive at spas without prior bookings; however, during peak days, they are advised to brace for small queues. Ski resorts such as Espoon Serena have noted a significant last-minute trend where a considerable percentage of their lodgings remain open for single-day bookings, indicating a flexible approach from the vacationers.

At other notable locations like Messilä ski resort near Lahti, larger cabins and hotel rooms are almost fully booked, while accommodations at Sappee in Pälkäne are nearly at capacity. The increase in last-minute bookings may suggest a shift in holiday planning styles, where travelers prefer spontaneity over advanced planning, possibly due to varying factors such as weather forecasts or personal schedules.
