Possibly involved in illegal hunting case is a member of the Ventspils district council's Hunting Commission
A member of the Ventspils district council's Hunting Commission, Artis Kuģenieks, has been implicated in illegal hunting activities, as reported by Latvijas Avīze.
Artis Kuģenieks, a member of the Hunting Coordination Commission of the Ventspils district council, has been reported by Latvijas Avīze to be involved in possible illegal hunting activities. The State Forest Service (VMD) conducted a planned hunting inspection in Ventspils district, uncovering illegal hunting operations that involved utilizing moving vehicles and night vision scopes. Consequently, three administrative violation procedures have been initiated against the hunters, and hunting rights have been suspended.
During the inspection, VMD officials conducted a raid in the 'Ance' hunting area and observed tire tracks left by vehicles in the fields. Upon returning the next evening to monitor the area, officials noticed an apparently cut cornfield but no individuals present at the hunting tower. Later, around 10:30 PM, a 'Toyota Hilux' vehicle was spotted entering the field, pausing for about a minute, and then moving around the area, which led to suspicions about illegal activities occurring on the site.
