The Strategic Talent of Women for the Development of Our Country

On International Day of Women and Girls in Science, Terna emphasizes its commitment to promoting women's access and growth in STEM fields as key to national development.

In celebration of the International Day of Women and Girls in Science, Terna, an energy company in Italy, reaffirmed its dedication to enhancing women's participation in STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics). The company recognizes that advancing women's skills in these fields is crucial for supporting Italy's energy transition, digitizing the national electrical system, and fostering the country's overall development.

In 2025, under the leadership of Giuseppina Di Foggia, Terna successfully hired over 800 new employees, with approximately 36% being women. Notably, more than 350 graduates in STEM disciplines joined the company in the same year, reflecting a 20% increase compared to 2024. This substantial representation of women and individuals with STEM qualifications positions Terna to meet the growing demands of the energy sector.

Currently, Terna boasts over 2,300 professionals educated in STEM fields, holding key roles in engineering, IT, data science, and cybersecurity. These figures underscore Terna's effective strategy to attract top talent and indicates a broader commitment to gender diversity, which is increasingly recognized as essential for innovative and sustainable growth in the energy industry.
