Weather: Increased cloudiness with rain - Where sporadic storms are expected

Greece is expecting increased cloud cover with rain and the possibility of sporadic storms in various regions today, according to the National Meteorological Service.

Today, Greece will experience increased cloudiness accompanied by rain, particularly in the western and southern regions, and this pattern will spread to the rest of the country by midday. As the afternoon progresses, rainfall is expected to intensify, especially in the west where sporadic thunderstorms may occur, some of which could be quite strong. Additionally, temporary snowfall is forecasted for the central and northern mountainous areas.

Winds will be blowing from the south in the west at speeds of 3 to 5 Beaufort, increasing to 5 to 7 Beaufort in the afternoon. These winds are expected to shift to the west at night but will maintain the same intensity. In the eastern regions, winds will also come from the south, initially at 3 to 5 Beaufort, which will strengthen to locally reach 6 Beaufort in the afternoon, particularly in the southwestern areas by night.

Overall, temperatures will see a slight rise, reaching around 13 to 14 degrees Celsius in the north and approximately 16 to 17 degrees in other areas, with some locations in the southern Aegean potentially seeing temperatures rise to 19 degrees. A detailed weather forecast for Macedonia and Thrace suggests that cloud cover will gradually increase by midday, leading to upcoming weather changes across the country.
