In their statement released on the night of February 10, 2026, the lawyers highlighted alarming incidents within the Judiciary, specifically citing the pressures faced by judges like Carlos Serrano and Christian Fierro. They reported undue interference during the resolution of a money laundering case associated with Serbian citizen Jezdimir Srdan that has raised questions about judicial independence and integrity in Ecuador.
