Ten Unmissable Events for Carnival 2026 in Quito and Surroundings

Quito's municipality has organized a wide range of family-friendly events to celebrate Carnival 2026 throughout the city and its surrounding areas.

The Municipality of Quito has announced an exciting agenda of events to commemorate Carnival 2026 in the capital of Ecuador. From the southern to the northern neighborhoods, including rural areas, the city will host 100 activities aimed at families, encouraging participation in various cultural and festive themes. The activities will take place in numerous locations across the Metropolitan District, such as parks, museums, and public spaces.

Highlighted among these events are concerts, parades, and particularly the Carnival of Amaguaña, which marks an impressive 67 years of tradition. The city has planned ten standout activities that capture the essence of local culture and community involvement. For example, on February 14 and 16, families can partake in the Carnival of the Neighborhoods at Cumandá Urban Park, showcasing representations from several neighborhoods.

Additionally, the Carnival of Lumbisí is set to take place in the Tumbaco Zone on February 14, where residents can enjoy free access at the Park of Identity. Other colorful events include the Carnaval de Colores parade on Avenida Teniente Hugo Ortiz. These activities not only celebrate Carnival but also aim to foster community spirit and revive the vibrant social life of Quito, making them significant highlights of the local cultural calendar.
