Finnish skier heads home from the Olympics
Finnish skier Amanda Saari is returning to Finland after her participation in the Olympics in Val di Fiemme, where she finished 24th in the sprint.
Amanda Saari, a 26-year-old Finnish skier, has announced her departure from the Olympic games held in Val di Fiemme, Italy. Her personal coach, Toni Roponen, confirmed her exit to Ilta-Sanomat. Originally, Saari was set to compete only in Tuesday's sprint event and had not participated in many normal distance competitions during the last two World Cup seasons. In her sprint heat, she finished fifth, and ultimately placed 24th overall in the standings. Despite her early departure, there was still a belief from Saari that she could have performed better if her skis had provided more grip during the race.
