Ariadna Montiel Reyes, the Secretary of Welfare in Mexico, announced via social media that individuals enrolled in the Sembrando Vida program will be able to withdraw their monthly financial support starting on February 10, which pertains to the month of January. Each participant will receive a payment of 6,450 pesos, accessible through the official Bienestar Card, which is used for the distribution of resources from Mexico's social programs.
Montiel Reyes emphasized that this financial assistance is part of the social policy driven by the principles of Mexican Humanism, aimed at enhancing the welfare of rural communities, promoting food self-sufficiency, and improving the living conditions for individuals engaged in agriculture. The Sembrando Vida program, which has a wide reach across the country, provides not only financial support but also technical assistance to farmers to enhance agroforestry production.
The initiative is significant as it underscores the Mexican government's commitment to supporting rural development and sustainability, highlighting efforts to reduce poverty among agricultural workers. With many beneficiaries relying on this support, the program plays a crucial role in local economies and food systems, ultimately fostering community resilience and self-sufficiency.
