IPVA deadline extended in Amapá with a 20% discount and installment payment up to 6 times
The deadline for paying IPVA in Amapá has been extended, offering a 20% discount and allowing payments in up to six installments.
The state of Amapá in Brazil has announced an extension of the deadline for payment of the IPVA (Vehicle Property Tax), along with a 20% discount for taxpayers who choose to pay early. This announcement was made on Wednesday, the 18th, with the first installment due on April 17 and subsequent payments scheduled for May 15, June 16, July 17, August 14, and September 18. Taxpayers can also submit requests for exemptions, licensing, and other related processes until September 30, with enforcement beginning on October 1.
The revenue generated by the IPVA is crucial as it funds essential public services such as health, education, security, and infrastructure, with half of the collected amount being allocated to municipalities. In a bid to ease the financial burden on specific groups, continued exemptions from the tax are provided for regularized taxis and motorcycle taxis, vehicles over ten years old, people with disabilities (PcD), motorcycles of up to 170 cc, and electric and hybrid vehicles until December 2026. For vehicles owned by individuals with disabilities valued at up to R$ 70,000, complete tax exemption is granted, while cars valued between R$ 70,000 and R$ 120,000 are taxed only on the amount exceeding R$ 70,000 with a rate of 3%.
The state government encourages taxpayers to take advantage of this opportunity by issuing the State Collection Document (DAE) through their official website. By extending the deadline and providing discounts, the government aims to improve tax compliance while also generating vital revenue for public projects and services in Amapá, benefiting the population and local development efforts.
