Thessaloniki: The hundreds of 20-euro banknotes were counterfeit

A man was arrested in Thessaloniki for counterfeiting currency and illegal possession of firearms after police found hundreds of counterfeit 20-euro notes and weapons in his home.

On Monday afternoon, a man was arrested by police in Kilkis for his involvement in currency counterfeiting and violations of weapons laws. During a search of his residence in Thessaloniki, authorities discovered a large stash of counterfeit notes among other illegal items. Specifically, 723 counterfeit 20-euro banknotes were seized, underscoring the seriousness of the offenses.
