Nagpur police arrested a husband and wife involved in a sex racket and rescued two women from their captivity.

Nagpur police conducted a raid and arrested a couple suspected of running a sex racket. The couple, identified as Taufiq Niyaz Qureshi, 26, and Zoya Taufiq Qureshi, 36, were apprehended while trying to deliver young women to clients. They had been using mobile phones to coordinate their illegal activities, which led the police to their location near a petrol pump in Nagpur's Rani Durgavati Chowk.

During the police investigation, the rescued women reported that the couple was transporting them to clients, highlighting the human trafficking aspect of the case. Following their arrest, the women were taken to Mayo Hospital for medical examinations, ensuring their safety and well-being. The police's timely intervention prevented further exploitation of the victims and showcased their commitment to combating such illegal activities in the region.

This incident has sparked a conversation about the ongoing issue of sex trafficking and the need for increased vigilance and legal measures to safeguard vulnerable individuals. The couple, who were reportedly married after Zoya divorced her previous husband two years ago, presents a troubling case of how domestic relationships can sometimes be intertwined with illegal enterprises. The local community is urged to remain aware and report any suspicious activities that could indicate such criminal undertakings.
