Police are looking for a suspect bus robber
A bus driver in Aarhus was stabbed during an attempted robbery, prompting police to seek assistance in locating the suspect.
On Monday afternoon, a 54-year-old bus driver was attacked and stabbed in an attempted robbery while driving along Axel Gruhns Vej in Højbjerg, southern Aarhus. The assailant tried to steal cash from the bus when the incident occurred. The driver survived the attack with non-life-threatening injuries, but the perpetrator is still at large, leading the East Jutland Police to request assistance from the public to gather information about the suspect.
The suspect is described as a male between 20 and 30 years old, standing approximately 175 to 185 centimeters tall, with a slender build and dark skin. He is reportedly a Danish speaker with an accent and was wearing black clothing and a mask at the time of the attack. In addition to the assault on the bus driver, the suspect is also believed to be involved in a subsequent robbery that same day, where a taxi driver was threatened with a knife in Viby J, although that driver was not harmed.
This incident raises concerns about public safety and the increasing risks faced by transport workers, especially in urban areas. As authorities continue to seek the suspect, they emphasize the importance of community vigilance and cooperation in preventing further violence and ensuring the safety of bus and taxi drivers in the region.
