The men's park final is heating up at the Winter Olympics in Milan-Cortina, where athletes from six different countries are vying for gold. The event will be broadcasted live at 1:30 PM on ETV2 and ERR's sports portal, with commentators Kristjan Kallaste and Riho Laast-Laas providing insights. Notably, Estonian freestyle skier Henry Sildaru faced disappointment as he failed to qualify for the final, ending up in 21st place among 28 competitors.
Sildaru’s attempts in the qualifiers began well, but he made a critical error during his landing on the first run, scoring 43.05 points and settling in 16th place after the first attempt. Unfortunately, his second run saw an even worse outcome, crashing and earning him only 21.70 points. Ultimately, he could not overcome the fierce competition, and only the top twelve athletes advanced to the final, with Swiss skier Kim Gubser snagging the last spot with 64.10 points.
The overall competition saw strong performances from athletes, particularly from Norway and Sweden; Birk Ruud and Tormod Frostad led the day for Norway, scoring 81.75 and 79.96 points respectively, while Sweden's Jesper Tjader also performed admirably with 79.83 points. Defending Olympic champion Alex Hall from the USA scored 71.63 points, placing him in eighth. As the final approaches, excitement builds for who will take home the coveted gold medal in men’s freestyle skiing park.
