Incheon Police Strengthen Patrols at Multi-Use Facilities and Prevent Domestic Violence Crimes During Lunar New Year Holidays
Incheon police are implementing special security measures from January 9 to 18 to enhance patrols in public facilities and prevent domestic violence during the Lunar New Year holidays.
The Incheon Police Chief has announced a special security plan that will be in effect from January 9 to 18, aimed at preventing crime in multi-use facilities and domestic violence, while reinforcing traffic safety and management systems. Daily patrols will feature approximately 100 officers targeting vulnerable locations such as traditional markets and terminals to enhance public safety through visible police presence. Additionally, the police will monitor households that have reported domestic violence to prevent related crimes during this festive period.
In line with these measures, Chief Han Chang-hoon visited the Incheon Passenger Terminal and the Comprehensive Fisheries Market to assess security conditions. The Incheon Passenger Terminal is expected to see a surge in visitors returning home for the holidays, while the Comprehensive Fisheries Market is anticipated to attract numerous customers for holiday food purchases. Keeping these locations secure is paramount, as they play a crucial role during the Lunar New Year celebrations.
Further, Chief Han plans to visit Shin-Gi Market and the Family Park Cemetery on January 11 and 12 to ensure public safety in these areas. The police are establishing a comprehensive management system centered around the 112 situation room throughout the holiday to coordinate responses and enhance traffic safety measures at congested locations such as cargo truck checkpoints and popular public parks.
