'Safe Lunar New Year' Prevention Vaccination & Health Guidelines Checklist

The Korean Disease Control Agency urges the public to follow health guidelines and get vaccinated ahead of the upcoming Lunar New Year holiday to prevent the spread of infectious diseases during a period of increased travel and gatherings.

In anticipation of the Lunar New Year holiday from January 14 to 18, when many will travel domestically and abroad to reunite with family, health authorities in South Korea are urging citizens to be vigilant against infectious diseases. The Korea Disease Control Agency (KDCA) is emphasizing the importance of personal hygiene such as handwashing, wearing masks, and food safety practices, particularly as respiratory infections like influenza and COVID-19, as well as gastrointestinal infections like norovirus, are currently prevalent across the nation. They also provide resources through the 'Travel Health Official' website to inform travelers about overseas infectious disease conditions and health guidelines.
