On October 10, the special prosecutor's team led by Ahn Kwon-seop summoned lawyer Kwon Sun-young from the law firm Kim & Chang, who was previously associated with Coupang, as a witness in the investigation of allegations concerning Coupang's unpaid severance and the suppression of investigations. This marks the first investigation following the execution of a search warrant at Kwon's residence on December 24 of the previous year. Kwon represented Eom Seong-hwan, the former CEO of Coupang Fulfillment Service, who is under investigation for violations of the Worker Retirement Benefits Guarantee Law. The special prosecutor's team suspects that Busan High Prosecutor's Office prosecutor Kim Dong-hee disclosed details of the search warrant to Kwon, resulting in a breach of confidentiality.
