Grupo Aeroportuario del Sureste (Asur) has announced that Volaris will initiate four new national routes beginning in early June this year. This addition will expand the airline's operations from 36 to 40 routes in Asur-managed airports, underlining Volaris's growing presence at key urban centers and tourist destinations in Mexico including Cancún, Cozumel, Huatulco, Mérida, Oaxaca, Tapachula, Veracruz, and Villahermosa.

The newly introduced routes include Puebla-Huatulco, Puebla-Villahermosa, Querétaro-Oaxaca, and Querétaro-Veracruz. This strategic expansion aims to enhance connectivity for travelers, making it easier for thousands of customers to access popular tourist destinations and important urban centers across Mexico. This move is expected to promote tourism significantly and increase the airline's service capacity within the region.

Currently, Volaris operates an average of 634 flights weekly at Asur airports. The expansion highlights the importance of air travel for the economic development of the regions served by Asur, as it could lead to increased economic activity due to improved accessibility to these areas for both domestic and international travelers.
