ASF presents operational manual for SISAR and the induction manual for the follow-up process
The Mexican Federal Audit Office (ASF) presented strategic manuals aimed at improving public sector auditing processes.
The Federal Audit Office of Mexico, led by its head David Colmenares PΓ‘ramo, recently unveiled the Operational Manual for the Action and Recommendation Follow-up System (SISAR) and the Induction Manual for the Follow-up Process. These documents are intended to serve as crucial tools for public servants involved in superior fiscal oversight processes. Colmenares emphasized that strengthening follow-up has been one of the most significant advancements for the ASF in recent years, particularly against a backdrop of budgetary constraints and technological transformation.
During his remarks, the Auditor highlighted the significant evolution of the follow-up area, which was established eight years ago and has since consolidated positive results. These improvements have been reflected in more efficient, productive, and useful auditing processes for the country. The manuals are seen as a key institutional milestone, designed to systematize knowledge and provide clear guidelines for public officials engaging in audit activities, ultimately aiming to enhance accountability and transparency in public expenditures.
The introduction of these manuals comes at a time when there is an ongoing need for enhanced scrutiny and effective follow-up in government operations. By providing structured resources for public servants, the ASF aims to bolster their capacity to monitor and act upon audit observations, thereby contributing to greater integrity in public financial management. The expected outcomes include not only improved operational efficiency but also increased public confidence in the oversight mechanisms of the state.
