In a tragic event on Sunday (8), three residents of Simão Dias, located 105 km from Aracaju, lost their lives amid severe rains that caused extensive damage in the region. Two of the victims, identified as Nivaldo de Jesus Rodrigues, 60, and Domingos Ribeiro dos Santos, 77, were swept away by the strong currents of a stream while returning from a trip with a friend. The third victim, Roberto Martins de Aguiar, 41, succumbed to injuries after his motorcycle crashed into a coconut tree. The driver of the vehicle transporting Nivaldo and Domingos managed to escape, highlighting the dangerous conditions caused by the flooding.
