R. Makauskas, a member of the Marijampolė City Council, has been convicted of fraud and banned from public service for three years after falsifying expense reports.
R. Makauskas, a city council member of Marijampolė, has been sentenced for committing fraud, abuse of power, and document forgery. He was found guilty by the court for falsifying 26 reports on council member expenses between 2019 and 2021, where he submitted misleading data regarding supposedly incurred fuel and transportation expenses related to his council duties. As a consequence of his actions, the court imposed a fine of 6,000 euros and prohibited him from being elected or appointed to any government or municipal office for three years.
