Klaipėda police raids: more than 30 people caught driving without seat belts, including 4 children

Klaipėda police conducted a series of raids, identifying over 30 individuals, including four children, driving without seat belts and arresting several drivers for various traffic violations.

On February 8th, Klaipėda police carried out several traffic raids, resulting in significant traffic infractions being documented. Among the offenders, 28 drivers and three passengers were found not wearing seat belts, while four children were notably transported without appropriate restraints. Additionally, different incidents saw multiple drivers operating vehicles under the influence, without valid driver's licenses, and using mobile devices while driving.

During these operations, officers stopped a driver of a Subaru born in 1961 who was found to have a blood alcohol concentration of 0.5. In another case, a Volkswagen driver born in 1994 was caught driving without a valid license, which had been revoked, and was using a mobile phone illegally at the time of the stop. Meanwhile, a Skoda driver from 1986 was found with a revoked license and operating a vehicle that lacked both mandatory technical inspection and insurance, indicating a pattern of persistent disobedience to traffic laws in the region.

These monitoring efforts by Klaipėda police reveal a broader issue of non-compliance with road safety rules, emphasizing the dangers posed by drivers neglecting safety measures. The reporting spans a week, highlighting the necessity for law enforcement to increase awareness and enforcement regarding the use of seat belts and restrictions against mobile phone usage, aiming to enhance public safety on the roads.
