The First This Year: More Than 150 Young People Voluntarily Start Military Service
Over 150 young people in Lithuania have begun their military service at the General Romualdas Giedraitis Artillery Battalion and the Grand Duchess Birutė Uhlan Battalion.
This year, more than 150 young Lithuanians have voluntarily enlisted in military service, marking a significant commitment to national defense. They will serve in the General Romualdas Giedraitis Artillery Battalion and the Grand Duchess Birutė Uhlan Battalion, where they will undergo essential military training designed to prepare them for their roles. New recruits will familiarize themselves with military life, receive uniforms, and learn about their daily schedules in the first days of their service.
The training program approved by the Commander of the Lithuanian Armed Forces emphasizes thorough preparation and skill development among the young soldiers. The initial three months are dedicated to an intensive basic training course, where recruits acquire fundamental knowledge and practical skills in various areas, including tactics, topography, drill, engineering, first aid, and weapon management. This rigorous training ensures that the recruits are well-equipped to face the responsibilities that lie ahead in their military careers.
Upon completing the basic training, soldiers will be assigned to specific specialties where they will deepen their knowledge and learn to work efficiently within teams. Throughout their nine months of service, they will engage in specialized tasks that enhance their operational effectiveness and readiness to contribute to Lithuania’s national defense. This initiative reflects Lithuania's ongoing commitment to strengthening its military capabilities and fostering a sense of duty among its youth.
