In anticipation of the upcoming Carnival in Salvador, the ferry-boat system has announced the availability of 850 extra scheduled spots for users between February 10 and 23. The added capacity is aimed at accommodating the increased demand for travel to the Island of Itaparica. The service will operate around the clock, particularly at the SΓ£o Joaquim Terminal from Thursday, February 12 through Saturday, February 14, and at the Bom Despacho Terminal from Tuesday, February 17 through Thursday, February 19.
According to the company managing the ferry service, Internacional Travessias Salvador, there will be 380 new departures available for those traveling from the capital to the island between Tuesday and Saturday, helping to ease the burden of Carnival traffic. Additionally, for return trips, there will be 470 new slots available for departures from Saturday to Monday, covering the period from February 10 to 19. This initiative highlights the efforts to ensure a smooth and convenient travel experience for residents and visitors celebrating Carnival.
The operational changes represent a proactive approach to managing the anticipated influx of people during this festive season. This service expansion is expected to significantly enhance the transportation experience for both locals and tourists in Salvador during this busy period.
