City Tours in Freising: Free Rides with the Rickshaw
Diana Melzer, a part-time pharmacist from Freising, is seeking patrons for her project 'Rickshaw Patron', aimed at providing free city tours for those in need using her motorized rickshaw.
Diana Melzer, a 42-year-old pharmacist from Freising, has launched a new initiative called 'Rickshaw Patron', which aims to offer free guided city tours for underprivileged individuals using her motorized rickshaw. Melzer, who balances her pharmacy work with her passion for cycling, has been giving guided tours for three years. Her motivation to start this charitable project stemmed from an experience last autumn with a wheelchair user, who was deterred from a planned ride due to its 90 Euro cost.
After learning that the wheelchair user could not afford the full price, Melzer generously offered the tour at half the price, which allowed the individual to experience the beauty of Freising's attractions. This encounter deeply touched Melzer, as she witnessed the joy it brought to her guest. She was motivated by the desire to help more people experience their hometown without the financial burden, leading her to seek patrons who could support these free rides.
Through the 'Rickshaw Patron' project, Melzer hopes to bridge the gap for those who often miss out on local experiences due to financial constraints. Her commitment not only showcases her community spirit but also emphasizes the importance of accessibility and inclusion within the city, allowing everyone to enjoy and learn about Freisingβs cultural heritage regardless of their economic situation.
