A strong reinforcement for HJK
Danish player Mads Borchers has joined HJK on loan from Ingolstadt, with an option to buy after the season.
Mads Borchers, a 23-year-old Danish forward, has transferred to HJK from the German club Ingolstadt on a loan deal that extends until the end of July and includes an option to purchase. Borchers has already played 15 matches in the third tier of German football this season, scoring one goal. He is also known in Finland for his previous performance with VPS, where he scored 15 goals in 22 matches during the 2024 and 2025 seasons.
Borchers' acquisition is seen as a significant boost for HJK's attacking options, with the club’s sports director Petri Vuorinen highlighting the player's ambition and professional approach. He believes Borchers will offer a different option in attack, particularly valuing his ability to protect the ball and his strength in the box. This strategic signing is expected to enhance HJK's competitive edge in the ongoing season.
Having emerged from the Esbjerg academy, Borchers is eager to embrace this new challenge at the Helsinki club. Expressing gratitude for the opportunity, he has committed to working hard and giving his all for HJK. His readiness to integrate quickly into the team’s framework could be pivotal as the club aims to improve its performance in the league and make a mark in European competitions.
