GEK TERNA has recently been awarded the contract for two railway projects with a total budget of approximately 1 billion euros by the National Railway Company of Romania (CFR). The projects cover the railway line from Craiova to Igiroasa, which spans a distance of 83 kilometers. This announcement marks a significant step for GEK TERNA as they expand their influence in the Romanian infrastructure sector.

The projects involve two specific sections: Lot 1, from Craiova to Filiași, budgeted at 543.4 million euros, and Lot 2, from Filiași to Igiroasa, with a budget of 449.2 million euros. GEK TERNA is leading the consortium with a stake of 69% for Lot 1 and 74% for Lot 2, while partnering with Alstom Romania for this endeavor. This collaboration indicates a robust commitment toward modernizing and enhancing Romania's railway infrastructure.
