Each carrier will set up dedicated situation rooms to monitor and manage network traffic, which is expected to see a significant increase due to the holiday celebrations. KT will operate a comprehensive situation room centered in Gwacheon, while LG U+ will set up its command center in Seoul. Meanwhile, SK Telecom aims to maintain service efficiency through its own operational measures and support for key platforms during this peak time.

Preliminary inspections and readiness measures have been completed to accommodate the expected surge in mobile traffic in various high-traffic areas, including toll plazas, train stations, and airports across South Korea. The carriers predict an increase in data traffic of up to 17% on the holiday itself. KT is implementing additional strategies to manage usage spikes in specific regions by reallocating network resources to ensure seamless connectivity for users. Furthermore, LG U+ will assign personnel in critical areas that often face congestion related to holiday travel.

Additionally, the mobile carriers are offering special promotions to foster communication among family members during this festive occasion. The notable highlight of these benefits is the provision of free video calling services from February 14 to 18, allowing families to stay connected during the holiday. This initiative enhances the overall user experience and reflects the companies' commitment to supporting their customers' needs during significant cultural events like the Lunar New Year.
