Galo Lara, the governor of Los Ríos, has publicly addressed a concerning incident involving an attempted attack on a truck that was part of Vice Prefect Mayra Díaz's caravan. This incident occurred on the Mocache-Jauneche road and has prompted the governor to initiate an investigation into the matter. Despite the seriousness of the situation, Lara mentioned that no official complaint has been filed with the authorities regarding the attack at this point.

Preliminary reports indicate that individuals on motorcycles attempted to intercept one of the vehicles transporting Prefecture officials. Fortunately, the driver managed to evade the attempt, and importantly, Vice Prefect Díaz was not traveling in the affected vehicle. Governor Lara emphasized that the vice-prefect was not involved in the situation, supported by the testimony of a security chief who provided information to the police regarding the incident.
