Early Sunday morning, a barn in Kouvola, Finland, caught fire, and by the time emergency services arrived, it was too late to save the structure or its livestock. The owner had reported the fire, but the steel-framed building on Yläniitynkuja was fully consumed by flames upon the firefighters' arrival.

According to Timo Kuossari, the on-duty chief of the Kymenlaakso Rescue Service, the tragic incident led to the loss of 180 cattle that perished in the blaze. The firefighters focused their efforts on preventing the fire from spreading to nearby buildings, successfully protecting another barn located nearby from the flames.
