RSU volleyball players win first match of the Baltic League play-off, RVS/LU suffers defeat

Rīgas Stradiņa universitāte (RSU) secured a victory in their first play-off match of the Baltic Women's Volleyball League, while Rīgas Volejbola skola/Latvijas Universitāte (RVS/LU) faced a loss.

Rīgas Stradiņa universitāte (RSU) triumphed in the first match of the 'Elme Messer' Baltic Women's Volleyball League playoff series, defeating Viļņas 'VMSM Sostines tauras-VTC' with a score of 3-1. The victory places RSU at an advantage in their best-of-three quarterfinals, moving them ahead 1-0 in the series. Key performances came from players such as Anna Cepurīte, who scored 22 points, along with Loreta Martinsone and Agija Ankevic who contributed significantly to the team's success.

In contrast, Rīgas Volejbola skola/Latvijas Universitāte (RVS/LU) experienced a setback in their home match against 'Tartu Universitāte/Bigbank,' narrowly losing 2-3. The match showcased strong performances from RVS/LU's Šarlote Šlitere, who scored 25 points, and Anete Čelnova, who added 13 points.
