The recent overflow of the Chicales River, triggered by heavy rainfall, has caused significant flooding in the Matilde area of El Triunfo canton in Guayas province, Ecuador. Local residents have been adversely affected by this natural disaster, prompting a swift response from the Guayas Prefecture. Emergency protocols were activated to address the situation, allowing teams to assess the damage and initiate relief efforts promptly.

Technical teams from the Guayas Risk Management Directorate, along with infrastructure machinery, were deployed to the area to alleviate the effects of the flooding and minimize risks to affected families. Initial analyses of the situation were conducted by Prefecture delegates who emphasized the importance of a rapid and effective intervention.
