Anett Liisa Parts achieved an outstanding feat at the Youth European Championships in ski orienteering held in Lulea, Sweden, by clinching gold medals in both the sprint and the short-distance races. In the sprint event, which took place on Friday, she finished ahead of Latvia's Liene Riekstina by just ten seconds, with Sweden's Ebba Frendelius taking the bronze. Parts's performance not only showcased her competitiveness but also highlighted her ability to excel under pressure against strong competitors.
The following day, during the short-distance race, Parts delivered a commanding performance, completing the 7.5 km course in an impressive time of 30.32 minutes. She once again distanced herself from Riekstina, finishing a significant three minutes and 13 seconds faster. The bronze medal was claimed by the Czech athlete Pavlina Salabova, who finished nearly five minutes behind Parts. This victory marked a significant achievement not only for Parts but also for Estonian representation in youth skiing competitions.
Parts reflected on her performance after the race, stating that her confidence during the short-distance event was much higher than in the sprint.
