A tragic incident occurred in the Morumbi neighborhood of São Paulo, where a municipal civil guard was fatally shot while trying to prevent a robbery at a pharmacy on Correggio Street. The guard, named Rodrigo dos Santos, 42, who was off-duty and fueled his vehicle nearby, responded to a robbery alert alongside a retired military police officer. Upon arrival at the scene, they witnessed two men engaging in the theft while two accomplices waited outside on motorcycles to facilitate their escape.

During the robbery, a gunfight ensued as the assailants exited the pharmacy. Santos was critically injured in the exchange of gunfire, despite the prompt intervention from a nearby retired policeman who attempted to assist.
