Diana experienced a chilling bus journey in Espoo
Diana Vanhanen, a 19-year-old from Espoo, encountered an extremely cold bus ride where the interior temperature mirrored the freezing weather outside.
Diana Vanhanen, a 19-year-old resident of Espoo, Finland, described a particularly frigid bus ride she experienced one Saturday morning. Boarding bus number 245 around 9 AM, she quickly realized that not only the outside temperature, which was a biting -21 degrees Celsius, but also the interior of the bus was brutally cold. Her breath fogged in the air as she entered, and Vanhanen reported that the bus's seats were so cold that many passengers resorted to using gloves or scarves to cover them before sitting down.
Vanhanen was en route to her job in Nuuksio, and throughout the journey, she noted that the temperature inside the bus did not seem to improve significantly. All passengers were visibly affected, as even the driver kept his gloves and hat on for warmth. Vanhanen captured a short video during the trip, showcasing the icy bus window and the frozen ceiling, which highlighted the uncomfortable conditions passengers had to endure.
Expressing her disbelief over the cold, Vanhanen remarked that this was the coldest she had ever felt on a bus. She attempted to warm her hands by blowing into them but found it futile, as she couldn’t risk opening her coat or further exposing herself to the biting cold. This incident sheds light on issues regarding public transportation during extreme weather conditions, emphasizing the need for better heating in public transport vehicles to ensure passenger comfort and safety.
