– I thought it was 'bus for skiing'!
A surprising incident occurred where a bus driver, instead of a ski enthusiast, unexpectedly found himself stuck in a ski trail while transporting schoolchildren to a ski trip in Oslo's Østmarka.
Aage Ringdal, a 70-year-old skier, encountered a rather unusual sight during his skiing trip at Grønmo in Oslo when he unexpectedly came across a bus. The bus driver was tasked with transporting schoolchildren to a ski area in Østmarka but had taken a wrong turn and ended up in the ski trail. Ringdal humorously remarked, 'I thought it was a skiing bus!' while recalling the comical moment with VG.
The incident unfolded around noon when Ringdal and other nearby skiers were taken aback by the sight of a bus, rescue vehicle, and tractor all located in the ski path. Ringdal noted how the driver seemed out of place and how it was a scene he had never witnessed before, as buses are certainly not a common sight in ski trails. A local rescue team was called to assist the bus driver, who had managed to get himself trapped after driving about 200-300 meters onto the slope.
Despite the bizarre situation, there was no panic or danger involved. The bus driver, who had originally intended to do a good deed by taking the children skiing, ended up needing assistance from Sæter Auto's managing director, Anders Bjørneby. The team effectively pulled the bus back to safety with the help of a tow truck and a tractor, leaving both skiers and the bus driver with an unforgettable experience and a light-hearted story to tell.
