Police find over 5 kg of drugs hidden inside a compressor on a boat during inspections in the Port of Oriximiná

The Military Police discovered more than 5 kg of drugs concealed within a compressor on a boat during inspections at the Port of Oriximiná, Brazil.

During inspections at the Hydroviary Port of Oriximiná in western Pará, the Military Police uncovered over 5 kilograms of drugs hidden inside a modified compressor. The seizure took place on Friday, and the vessel had departed from Manaus, Amazonas, en route to Oriximiná.

According to the Military Police, the search was prompted when they noticed signs of tampering and an unusual weight in the compressor, leading to a thorough inspection assisted by Tupã, a sniffer dog from the 2nd BME. Upon further examination of the equipment, authorities found that the interior contained over 5 kg of a drug identified as Skunk.

Since the compressor was part of the cargo sector, it was not possible to identify the owner of the shipment, with only the name 'Iolanda' listed. This incident underscores the ongoing issues related to drug trafficking in the region and highlights the importance of vigilance in transport methods as authorities work to combat illegal substance distribution.
