Sogang University Professor Kim Young-wook's Research Team Receives Best Paper Award at 2026 Korean Electromagnetic Waves Society Winter Conference

Sogang University's graduate student, Sung Min-seo, won the Best Paper Award at the 2026 Korean Electromagnetic Waves Society Winter Conference for his research on using quantum artificial neural networks for radar micro-Doppler robotic dog classification.

Sung Min-seo, a graduate student at Sogang University's Electronics Engineering Department under Professor Kim Young-wook, has been awarded the Best Paper Award at the 2026 Korean Electromagnetic Waves Society Winter Conference for his paper titled 'Correlation-Regularized CNN-QNN for Radar Micro-Doppler Robotic Dog Classification'. This innovative research proposes a quantum artificial neural network learning approach that enhances classification performance for radar-based robotic dogs by considering the correlations between features, setting it apart from traditional models. The work represents a significant advancement in the application of quantum neural networks to radar image classification and will be elaborated on in the CVPR 2026 Findings presentation.
