Korea Knowledge Industry Center Association to hold public hearing on relaxing attic height standards in knowledge industry centers
A public hearing focused on revising attic height regulations in knowledge industry centers is scheduled for April 2 in Goyang City, South Korea.
The Korea Knowledge Industry Center Association, in collaboration with the Joint Action Committee for Realistic Standards on Attic Installations in the Capital Region, is organizing a public hearing on April 2 at 2:30 PM at KINTEX II in Goyang City. This event aims to discuss the need for improvements to the attic height regulations that currently apply to knowledge industry centers. During the hearing, Professor Kim Dae-jong from Sejong University will present on the necessity and policy recommendations for reforming these regulations, while Lee Sang-won, Vice President of the Korean Association of Structural Engineering, will share the findings from a research study on structural considerations for installing multiple levels in knowledge industry centers.
Following the presentations, a discussion led by lawyer Lee Kwang-cheol will delve into the topics raised regarding the relaxation of attic height standards and the importance of the research findings. This public hearing is prompted by the recent referral of a legislative bill, proposed by Representative Hwang Hee, concerning amendments to construction laws, which was submitted to the National Assembly's Land, Infrastructure and Transport Committee. The outcome of this public hearing could significantly influence future regulatory frameworks governing knowledge industry centers and their operational capacities.
