Survey: businesses give their efficiency a 7 out of 10 and see biggest potential in infrastructure

A recent survey reveals that businesses in Lithuania rate their operational efficiency at 7 out of 10, with infrastructure improvements cited as key to enhancing this efficiency.

A recent survey conducted among businesses in Lithuania indicates that these companies assign a score of 7 out of 10 to their overall efficiency. Notably, the survey reveals that areas such as sales and cost management are perceived as the least effective, with 32% and 27% of respondents respectively highlighting these aspects as challenges. Additionally, logistics and staff management were acknowledged as significant hurdles by 21% and 20% of the respondents. Mykolas ÄŒiplys, from Darnu Group, emphasized that this pattern has been consistent for two years. The findings suggest that businesses identify substantial opportunities for improving efficiency primarily through enhancements in their rented or managed infrastructure. For instance, nearly half of the survey participants (48%) pointed out that well-developed infrastructure is crucial for boosting operational efficiency, while factors such as strategic location (37%) and a modern, functional working environment (34%) were also deemed important. The implication of these results suggests a pressing need for SMEs in Lithuania to focus on infrastructure improvements if they are to address existing operational challenges. Given that a significant number of businesses feel constrained by their current logistics and staff management systems, investing in improved infrastructures, such as better logistics networks and enhanced working environments, could lead to greater overall efficiency and productivity in the sector.
