Naver to Introduce 'AI Assistant' in All Services... Health Assistant to Debut This Year

Naver plans to implement AI assistants across all its services by the end of the year, starting with a Health Assistant.

Naver has announced its plan to integrate artificial intelligence (AI) agents into all areas of its services this year. CEO Choi Soo-yeon stated at the company's 27th annual shareholder meeting that this marks the third year of Naver's AI strategy, aiming to fully deploy AI agents to enhance user experience beyond just providing information. The goal is to understand user intent and create a seamless service flow to optimize execution.

Since last month, Naver has gradually expanded its AI agent services, which were initially limited to specific categories within its shopping platform. The AI agent in the Naver Plus Store now recommends suitable brands based on user purchasing characteristics when keywords are inputted. This service will soon be extended to the entire shopping sector, alongside plans to develop specialized AI services in local, finance, and health areas, ensuring a highly personalized experience that links various user data within the platform.

Additionally, at the same annual meeting, Naver's board approved the appointments of executives including CFO Kim Hee-cheol as a company director and the reappointment of outside director Kim Yi-bae. Naver aims to leverage its extensive AI infrastructure and reliable content assets to continue its innovative trajectory in tech services while enhancing its platforms' functionality and accessibility for users.
