Winter is not giving up. Warm sunny days will be sharply followed by cold, rain, and eventually snow
This week's weather in Czechia will start with warm temperatures, but a significant cold front is expected to bring freezing temperatures and snow later in the week.
At the beginning of the week, Czechia will experience warm and sunny weather, with temperatures reaching up to 18 degrees Celsius. However, meteorologists warn of a significant drop in temperatures as a cold front will sweep across the country mid-week, potentially bringing snow even to lower areas. On Monday and Tuesday, the skies will remain partly cloudy with afternoon temperatures staying around 14 degrees Celsius or higher.
As the cold front moves in on Wednesday, temperatures will plummet to near freezing, setting the stage for rain and snow in the mountainous regions and gradually in mid-altitude areas. By Friday, daytime temperatures are expected to hover only between 1 and 6 degrees Celsius. Meteorologists have noted that the latter half of the week will mainly feature overcast skies with morning temperatures near 1 degree Celsius and afternoon highs around 5 degrees, with the wind chill making it feel even colder.
Looking ahead to the next weekend, there may be a partial decrease in cloud cover, particularly in Bohemia, with a slight increase in maximum temperatures expected. However, throughout the week, nighttime temperatures will likely dip to around zero, presenting a stark contrast to the mild start of the week and indicating the return of winter-like conditions.
