Weather full of twists. Freezing temperatures will be replaced by rapid warming, but the idyll will not last long

Czechia is experiencing a week of highly variable weather, transitioning from winter-like conditions to a brief period of warming.

This week, Czechia is set to face a rollercoaster of weather patterns typically associated with March. The Czech Hydrometeorological Institute predicts that while the beginning of the week will bring reminders of winter with significant cloud cover and local showers, warmer temperatures are expected to arrive midweek. On Friday, coinciding with the Spring Equinox, the skies will cloud over once again, leading to fluctuations in conditions. Monday and Tuesday are anticipated to be dominated by extensive cloudiness and intermittent showers, with potential snowfall in higher elevations such as the Jeseníky and Beskydy mountain ranges.

As the week commences, temperatures are expected to hover between 6 to 11 °C, with southern Moravia potentially witnessing slightly warmer conditions reaching up to 13 °C. However, nighttime temperatures may dip down to as low as -3 °C, bringing frost into the mix. The meteorological forecasts indicate that an alarming wind speed in certain areas could reach about 55 kilometers per hour, complicating conditions substantially, especially in the Czech regions.

By midweek, the weather is projected to change significantly. Clear skies will allow for sunlight to warm the temperatures sharply. However, despite this warming phase, the forecast suggests that this period of pleasant weather may be short-lived, as the pattern is characterized by rapid changes typical of this season. Residents should prepare for these contrasting weather conditions, as well as the potential for impacts on daily life and outdoor activities throughout the week.
