A square located in the São Sebastião neighborhood of Divinópolis has officially been named after Júlio Maria Pinto to honor his significant contributions to the community and the area, which he personally maintained for eight years. The name change was formalized by a law signed by the mayor, emphasizing the importance of Pinto's efforts and legacy. Born in 1945, Júlio moved to Divinópolis in 1969 after serving in the Military Police and went on to establish the city's first dispatch office, where he worked for 46 years.

In addition to his professional endeavors, Júlio was also a passionate advocate for environmental sustainability. In 2016, he led a tree-planting initiative along Avenida Pedro Pires, introducing various native species and creating resting areas for residents.
