The Tony Elumelu Foundation has announced a significant commitment of $16 million in seed funding to support the development of 3,200 young entrepreneurs across Africa. This initiative is part of its 2026 entrepreneurship programme, aiming to harness and empower the entrepreneurial spirit among African youths. The announcement was made by the Foundation's CEO, Somachi Chris-Asoluka, during an event in Abuja, emphasizing the Foundation's continuing efforts to promote entrepreneurship across the continent.

During her address, Chris-Asoluka highlighted the overwhelming response to the programme, noting that they received a staggering 260,000 applications from aspiring entrepreneurs, demonstrating the vast potential and ambition present within the youth across Africa.
