The project "Goppers 150" commemorates the 150th anniversary of General Karlis Goppers
A project commemorating the 150th anniversary of General Karlis Goppers features a thematic exhibition detailing his life and contributions to Latvia.
This year marks the 150th anniversary of the birth of General Karlis Goppers (1876-1941), a significant figure in Latvian history whose legacy is tied to the country's formation, military heritage, and the development of the scouting movement in Latvia. To honor this milestone, Goppers' family, in collaboration with the Goppers Legacy Fund, the Central Organization of Latvian Scouts, the Latvian War Museum, and other partners, is implementing the project "Goppers 150." The central event of this initiative is a themed exhibition that will be open from April 2 to May 4 in Riga, showcasing the life story of General Goppers from his roots in Valmiera to his professional military service and societal contributions.
