Interventions in the south of Quito lead to the seizure of 33 cell phones and the withdrawal of 31 identity cards
Security forces in Quito conducted operations that resulted in the seizure of stolen items and the initiation of administrative processes against nightclubs for legal violations.
In a series of coordinated operations conducted by the Armed Forces and National Police along with officials from the Metropolitan Agency for Control (AMC), security forces intercepted two nightclubs in the La Ajaví area of southern Quito, Ecuador. These operations, carried out on the night of March 20 and the early hours of March 21, involved 67 agents and aimed to confiscate illegal items and enforce legal compliance among entertainment venues.
The actions led to significant finds, including 33 mobile phones believed to be stolen, three knives, a machete, a stiletto, and scissors. Authorities closed two establishments for violating regulations and initiated administrative processes in four additional cases. The operations underscored a proactive approach to enforcing law and order in nightlife areas, addressing concerns over illegal activities and public safety.
These interventions reflect ongoing efforts by Ecuadorian authorities to crack down on crime and illegal activities, particularly in entertainment zones that have often been linked with safety issues. This may serve as a warning to other establishments in Quito as the government intensifies its oversight and intervention strategies in similar venues to ensure compliance with laws and reduce unlawful behavior.
